What’s the Suggested Age?
Although most of our regularly scheduled events require participants to be at least 19 years of age, when scheduling a private party, we only suggest participants are ages 6 and older. Parents are also welcome to join in. If you have a teen who’s an aspiring artist, contact us to see which party option is the best fit for them. We currently offer Acrylic Painting experiences only for Children’s parties.
What Dates Are Available For Private Parties?
Send us a message to discuss available dates/times. Slots are given on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to book your party well in advance – slots will fill up quickly!
How Long Are Private Parties?
Birthday parties are 1-2 hours long and at least one adult must be present at all times. We can incorporate cake and present time into our painting time as well, if desired. We’ll even help with cleaning up the mess once the party ends!
What Can I Paint?
The birthday boy or girl can decide on the painting, either from the Create over Cupcakes gallery or in collaboration with one of our artists, and the instructor will help them and their friends compose their very own version!
What Will Be Provided?
Each child will be given a 9 x 12 inch canvas which they will be able to take home with them once they are finished. You’re also welcome to bring any decorations, cake, drinks, snacks, plates, napkins, cups, an iPod loaded with their favourite songs (some venues may require speakers) etc. to make their day extra special.
What Venues Are Available for Private Parties?
Create over Cocktails can come to you! If you supply the tables and chairs, we will provide all necessary supplies for creation. We also have a select few of our regular venues who are willing to host Children’s parties, depending upon availability.
How Many Guests Can Be Accommodated?
Children’s Create over Cupcakes parties within 40km of our base cities cost a minimum of $300 taxes included and allow for up to 10 people. Each extra guest is an additional $30 taxes included, and the maximum occupancy is 50 people. An initial, nonrefundable $150 deposit is required upon reservation. Outside of the 40km from our base cities, parties cost a minimum of $600 taxes included and allows for up to 20 people. Any extra guests cost an additional $30 taxes included each. An initial, nonrefundable $250 deposit is required upon reservation. If your event location is outside the 40km limit, a traveling fee may be added as well.
Can I bring outside food and drinks into the venue?
Typically, as this is against food code regulations, the answer is no. However, you are free to contact the venue and make the special request. We partner with venues who are willing to offer their space at no extra charge to guests in exchange for their patronage. We do, however, partner with some venues who serve beverages only and who welcome outside food and/or catering.
When and How Can I Pay the Deposit?
The nonrefundable deposit is required upon reservation to book the day and time with us and the venue space (if applicable). Deposits can be paid directly through invoicing via credit card, or by e-transfer or cash.
When and How Can I Pay the Balance?
The balance for the original stated number of estimated guests must be paid within 7 days of your event. By that time, supplies for at least that number of guests have been purchased, the artist has been hired, and the venue and ourselves have dedicated the chosen day, time, and space to your party, making it difficult to rebook. If there are additional guests (within reason) at the event, the difference may be paid at that time. Please collect the balance due for any additional guests (individual payments will not be accepted) and pay the artist in full BEFORE the event begins. We cannot refund for any “no-shows.” The balance can be paid directly through invoicing via credit card, or by e-transfer or cash.
What If I Need To Reschedule My Party?
If you must reschedule your private party for any reason, we must receive your request 7 days or more before your event was originally scheduled to take place. You may only reschedule a private party once. If you reschedule a second time, it will be considered a cancellation and a new non-refundable deposit will be charged to book the new requested date. If cancelled within 7 days of your event you will still be charged the remaining balance in full.
What If I Need To Cancel My Party?
Initial private party deposits are strictly non-refundable. If you must cancel your private party for any reason, you will not be charged the remaining balance so long as we receive your cancellation request 7 days or more before your event is scheduled. If you cancel within 7 days of your event you will still be charged the remaining balance in full. Cancellations can be made via email or by calling 506.607.1141. Create over Cocktails reserves the right to cancel an event due to rare, unforeseen circumstances, and in such cases notification will be sent at least 4 hours prior to the event and you will have the option to reschedule or receive a full refund.
Once again, initial deposits will be processed at the time parties are booked and are NON-REFUNDABLE. The remaining amount for the booking will be due within 7 days of your event.
